Verifying Your Income

As a Responsible Lender, we need to ensure you can comfortably afford your Loan Repayments. In order to do this, we analyse your most recent Bank Statements.

How do I verify my income?

To verify your income, and offer an instant decision, we use a secure service provided by New Zealand’s leading credit agency – illion that retrieves an electronic copy of your bank statements and analyses your income and expenses.

As part of the application process, you will be asked to enter your internet banking credentials. This process does not give us access or control over your bank accounts.

We never see or store your banking credentials; they are encrypted by illion, passed to your bank who will provide us with read-only copies of your bank statements, and then deleted permanently.

What if I don’t want to use this service?

If you do not wish to use this service, we will not be able to provide an instant decision, but you can still verify your income using one of the following steps:

  • Upload your most recent bank statements manually. Simply login to your Internet Banking, download your statements in PDF format, and upload them through your customer portal.
  • Email your bank statements. This is the slowest option and may increase the amount of time it takes to process your loan application. Login to your Internet Banking, download your statements in PDF format, and email them through to hello@movesmart.co.nz.
